Who are these Folk?

Teddington Woodcraft Folk provides sessions for a range of age groups. Each group is unique and run by dedicate leaders, aiming to entertain and inspire every week.

ElFins

The youngest active Teddington age group. Elfins meet from 5:30 - 7:00pm every Thursday.

Elfin sessions provide a bubbly atmosphere full of laughter and fun! In the perfect environment to explore team work, Elfins can explore the world while taking some time to have fun with new friends in a crafty, active and educational environment. 

6 - 9 years old

Pioneers

Pioneers meet from 7:15 - 8:45pm every Thursday.

Pioneer sessions tend to be more focused on exploring ideas key to the philosophy of Woodcraft and it’s principles. The leaders help their young people to learn the power of their own voices. There are still plenty of opportunities for laughter and silliness; the sessions always include games, and craft sessions are frequent.

10 - 12 years old

13 - 15 years old

Venturers

The oldest leader-run group at Teddington, Venturers meet from 7:30 - 9:00pm.

Venturer sessions provide more independence, with activities that allow young people to explore how the world is shaped. Leaders may introduce new activities (such as bushcraft), or encourage the Venturers to organise their own activities. Sessions provide an atmosphere in which new friendships can begin while old ones mature, establishing strong networks of friends between our young people.

16 - 21 years old

District Fellows

District Fellows (DFs) meet from 7:30 - 9:00pm

DF sessions allow independence and innovation; each session is planned and run by the DFs themselves. Most of our DFs have been involved in Woodcraft for years, meaning they are able to revisit themes of their choice, while spending time with those they have built strong friendships with. Often, our DFs help run sessions for younger groups, cultivating strong leadership and organisation skills. These attributes are developed by running their own sessions (and encouraged throughout the other age groups!)
