Be part of something -Teddington Woodcraft Folk

We are a UK-based educational movement for children and young people. As an organisation, we recently celebrated our 100th birthday, and as a district (Teddington), we recently celebrated our 50th birthday!

At its core, The Woodcraft Folk is a co-operative organisation strongly focused on equality for all. We believe in educating young people for social change, and work to ensure that young people's voices are heard and listened to. As UK members of the IFM-SEI, we emphasise the importance of international relationships, reflected in our slogan ‘Span the World with Friendship’. This friendship also extends to our natural world; we emphasise the importance of looking after our environment on a local and global scale.

Every week, thousands of volunteers and young people meet in school or community halls, and a host of other local venues. There, they learn about big ideas through fun activities like singing, camping, playing games and debating!

Meet the Folk at Teddington

Our district is based in Teddington, in the borough of Richmond Upon Thames (SW London).

We have four different age groups in Teddington, all of which meet weekly:

  • Woodpecker Elfins

  • Gecko Pioneers

  • Greenleaf Venturers

  • Unicorn DFs
